I wrote this and sent it to some friends before we left for christmas break.

The season once sprang
Has now again sprung
Time for santas and lights
and stockings to be hung

A break away from school
Giving our minds a rest
Cuz as college kids know
Brain rest is the best!

So enjoy the lack-of-use
and inactivity of the mind
But keep those parts going
That love, care, and stay kind

For those parts of the brain
We want to keep strong
Not just for now
But for our whole life long!

Be merry! Be glad!
During this Christmas season
But in all your good cheer
Don't forget the reason

We consider this time
To be a holiday
Not because of Santa
Or his reigndeer or sleigh

Knowing its the season
Of GIVING is good
But if that's all you know
It's not as much as you should

For it is the season
Of Christs birth by golly!
Not just a season
Of snowmen and holly!

So don't forget to remember
The true holiday
As you finish your singing
with "asleep on the hay"

Enjoy your Christmas
Have a dandy new year!
I can't wait to see you
When we all return here!

Stay safe and stay warm
(not like its real cold!)
And spread the magic of Christmas
With those young and old.
